Obituary for Jerry Max George

Jerry Max George, age 86, was born January 31, 1932 in rural Newtown, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Blackman) George.

Jerry is an Army veteran serving his country for eight years and serving 1 year in the Korean war. One of his proudest accomplishments was living 40 years sober. He was a longtime leader and supporter of a large AA Group in San Diego California. He was a master mason and has belonged to the Lemon Grove masonic lodge in Lemon Grove California since 1957. Jerry will always be remembered for his kindness, happy spirit and love for sharing stories.

Jerry is survived by longtime companion Betty Zalopany of La Mesa, California; two sons, John (Misty) George of Princeton, Missouri, Jerry Dean George of San Louis, California; one daughter, Denese Michelle Dimock of Newtown, Missouri; one step-daughter, Oresta Johnson of La Mesa, California; two grandchildren, Zachary Coin, Joshua George; two brothers, James George of Newtown, Missouri and Richard (Dick) George of San Diego, California

Jerry’s wishes were for cremation and no services will be held. Condolences may be left online at
